i'm here!

i'm here, and settled- for the most part. i'm at the library that is located right next door to my house. it's a cute little historic library, it was built as a black library during the civil war. and it contains mostly reference material on african-american history, but if you want regular books they just order them for you from the main library. and they have plenty of computers with internet access, thank god.

i am in love with my apartment, i just sat in it all day yesterday. and i think all my sleeplessness caught up with me, because i also slept a lot. i'll try to get some pictures up. and i love driving around the town, looking at everything. i went up to starbucks today and met with the manager. i start there wednesday. i'm just a little nervous, but it's okay.

my advisor at gsu emailed me, because i sent her a message filled with worry about obtaining a graduate assistantship. she made some calls and the honors program emailed me with interest about hiring me. so keep your fingers crossed!
